Delete Internet History- An Easy Guide
Monday, November 30th, 2009Why would you want to delete internet history? You may want to do so because it is a good way to keep your system organized. Why keep outdated search requests cluttering up your computer? Another reason many people want to learn how to do this is for privacy reasons. Unless you are the sole user with access to your machine, your browsing history is visible to anyone using it. The process is very simple. There are drop down menus to help you through the process.
There are two main browsers in use in today among computer users-Internet Explorer and Firefox. The instructions for deleting your browsing history are similar for each of these browsers. However, each method will be explained here.
Here is how to delete your Internet Explorer 8 browsing history.(If you forget to do this, your computer will delete it for you after 20 days, usually.)
Step1- look at the top of your screen. You will see the word TOOLS up there. Click TOOLS. Now you will see a menu.
The menu has several options.
Step 2- You will need to go down to the last option, which is “Internet Options.” Click on this option. You will see a box containing many different available choices.
Step 3- You will now see a new box on your screen. Go to ” Browsing History” option. It is on the second line.
tep 4- You have now activated another box. Go to ” History’” and click. The box beside the word history will now be check marked. Below, at the foot of the box, click the button marked ” Delete.”
Step 5- A small information box now appears on your screen. A graphic shows an animation of files being discarded into a garbage can. You are asked to wait until this process is completed. A larger information box also appears on the screen. When the animation stops running, the deletion of your Internet History is almost complete. Now, if you are sure you want to delete the history, click OK at the bottom of this box. If you have decided not to go through with the deletion, click “Cancel.”
You have now deleted your Internet History on your Internet Explorer 8 browser. In Firefox the process is similar- as follows.
1. In Firefox, first go to TOOLS.
2. Next go to “Options.” Then press the ” Privacy, ” button.
3. Now choose “History.”
4. Click on the “Clear.”
Your Firefox history is now deleted.
